6-day climbing course (NPTC units CS38 & CS39)

6 day Lantra CLMC 48 X

Course description

This popular combined climbing training course runs the candidate through all of the relevant theoretical and practical aspects that are required to pass NPTC Units CS38 and 39. Theoretical subjects include equipment selection and inspection, the law relating to tree climbing and tree cutting, tree safety inspections, knots, rescues, first aid and starting and using a chainsaw safely in a tree. The practical aspects of climber training include basic climbing techniques, choice of anchor points, moving around the canopy, branchwalking, rescues, and receiving, starting and using the chainsaw safely.

CS38 (Climbing and Rescue) and CS39 (Using a Chainsaw from Rope and Harness) can be trained for, and assesed separately. The relevant climber training courses run for 5 and 2 days respectively, so the 6 day combined course which we run much more frequently saves the candidate 1 days training, and therefore £100 + VAT in costs.
